Lark in the Park was first held for one week in the summer of 1996 by New Generation Church, Sidcup. In 14 years, the event has
grown, from a single tent to dominating Sidcup Place for 2 weeks every summer. It offers a variety of clubs, entertainment, workshops
and events every afternoon and evening for all age groups.
Lark in the Park is endorsed by Bexley Council and the Metropolitan Police and although still headed up by New Generation Church,
other churches belonging to Churches Together in Sidcup are actively involved in supplying volunteer workers and finance for
the event.
Lark in the Park appeals to all age groups as it provides a diversion for 2 weeks during the summer holiday.
The event currently has 1 part time member of staff and the rest of the work is done by a team of over 300 dedicated volunteers, representing 34 different churches and at least 10 other organisations including some from overseas.

grown, from a single tent to dominating Sidcup Place for 2 weeks every summer. It offers a variety of clubs, entertainment, workshops
and events every afternoon and evening for all age groups.
Lark in the Park is endorsed by Bexley Council and the Metropolitan Police and although headed up by New Generation Church, other churches belonging to Churches Together in Sidcup are actively involved in supplying volunteer workers and finance for the event.
Lark in the Park appeals to all age groups as it provides a diversion for 2 weeks during the summer holiday.
The event currently has 1 part time member of staff and the rest of the work is done by a team of over 300 dedicated volunteers, representing 34 different churches and at least 10 other organisations including some from overseas.

AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES for 12's and under 1.30-4.00pm (Monday-Friday)
Sport and games, take part in craft activities, play on inflatables and have their faces painted.
There are refreshments available at a low cost and there are no other charges.
Many families come out for the afternoon and spend it on a picnic blanket enjoying the sunshine while their children are occupied nearby. Halfway through the afternoon all activities stop for about 20 mins and there is an altogether time which includes singing, drama, a quiz, a Bible story and a messy game. Participation is optional.
