For more information go to: http://www.backtochurch.co.uk/

Taming the Tiger

Taming the Tiger

Raised in China, Tony was trained in the way of Kung Fu becoming a 3 times World Champion, a Master of the art and a highly proficient combat fighter.

In his early twenties Tony worked as an elite bodyguard, travelling the world protecting some of the world's richest and most powerful people.

When tragedy struck in his personal life he fell into sinister circles and was ultimately incarcerated in a Cypriot prison. A then violent and bloodthirsty man, talking to a stranger who begins to to visit him, Tony finds his anger begins to disappear as his priorities shift and his life takes a massive turn.

Where previously the other inmates had respected him for his fighting abilities, now they are drawn to him in a different way.

Meet him at:
Avery Hill Christian Fellowship,
Southspring, Sidcup on Saturday 18th October at 8.00pm.

Furnace

The Furnace is a place where you (if you're secondary school age) can come to worship God, to pray to God, talk to others about God, find out about God, have fun with friends, have a laugh, a place where you can belong, a place where you won't be laughed at or bullied, a safe place, a place to grow, a place to deal with stuff in life that needs dealing with. It's a place where you can bring other friends, and it's venue changes each time it's on. It's Facebook group is on its way.

(These Praise Parties began last year and we're running one each term, gradually drawing in kids from different churches in our local area and their leaders/parents.
Kids are registered so can be left without an adult in attendance, we have enough CRB'd adults running it, but we want to encourage the work in churches that don't
have that many children or young people, so this is why we've suggested bringing a group (or however many/few you have) and staying to help.
Permission for each child is needed from a responsible adult. Health and contact info required on registration.
For more information, speak to Laura Webster tel 020 8303 9126 or email her on laurajanewebster@aol.com)

St. John's Church, Welling (as in the last four years), have a pitch for the whole weekend of the Danson Festival for the churches of the Borough to use for prayer and children’s activities: “Prayer in the Park”. There will be regular Prayer Walks around the Festival site. There will be a need for volunteers to take part in prayer walking, in talking to visitors, and in running children’s craft activities and face painting on both Sat 5th and Sun 6th July. Tony Anthony

Saturday 18th OCTOBER : KUNG FU CHAMPION - TONY ANTHONY

8.00pm at Avery Hill Christian Fellowship, Southspring, Sidcup, DA15 8EA

Tony was trained in the way of Kung Fu. In his early twenties he worked as a body guard, travelling the world with some of the world’s richest, most powerful people. When tragedy struck in his personal life he allowed himself to fall into sinister circles and was ultimately incarcerated in a Cypriot prison. A then violent and bloodthirsty man, Tony was visited regularly by a missionary who was committed to sharing the message of freedom in Christ with those physically imprisoned. One night, in a broken prayer, he realised for himself the love and saving grace of the Lord Jesus. ‘Few people have sinned in the way I have,’ Tony maintains, ‘but God has saved me in such a mighty way. Even though I have fallen so short, he has used me, in his grace and power to bring others to him. Evangelism is my passion,’ he continues, ‘I pray that many people will come to know the freedom and the love in Christ that I know today.’
